Lake District Local Plan Review
The Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA) has recently completed a consultation on its Local Plan Review.  LDNPA is the planning authority for the part of the parish within the National Park.  Find out more about the Local Plan Review here.

At its meeting on 2 May 2018, the Parish Council filled the vacancy on the Council by co-opting Eve Templeton.

Lake District National Park Extension

On 1 August 2016, part of Helsington Parish – including Brigsteer village, Helsington Barrows, Sizergh Fell, Sizergh Castle and part of the Lyth valley – was incorporated into the Lake District National Park.
